On the sidelines of the inaugural Salone del Mobile Riyadh—the first edition of Salone del Mobile ever held outside Milan—Shiyar Ward had the privilege of hosting a distinguished gathering of global leaders from the international design, architecture, and hospitality sectors. The landmark event was held in Riyadh with the generous support and patronage of the Architecture and Design Commission, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s rising role as a global hub for design and cultural exchange.

Among the esteemed guests was Maria Porro, President of Porro S.p.A. and Director of Salone del Mobile. Maria Porro is widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in contemporary design, leading both a globally respected Italian design house and the world’s most important design fair. Her presence in Riyadh reflects the international significance of this inaugural edition and the Kingdom’s growing influence in shaping the future of global design discourse.

Shiyar Ward also welcomed Tomasz Wozny, Chief Executive Officer of Foster + Partners in Saudi Arabia. His work spans some of the most complex and high-profile architectural, urban, and mixed-use developments in the region, positioning him as a key figure in Saudi Arabia’s built-environment transformation.
